Family sessions incorporate a variety of activities from literacy, music, art and science. Annabel Manning is Community Arts Program Manager at Community School of the Arts and is in charge of the visual art and music components of the Get Ready With Words program.
GRWW is generously funded by PNC Bank.
Since 2011, I have been working on an arts initiative with the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art and the
Mecklenburg County Jail system in Charlotte. My responsibility as a teaching artist for the museum is to educate the Latina/o inmates
about the artwork in the Bechtler collection and to develop art projects based on each inmate’s personal narrative.
